Meet the owner, Brittany Harpole

Pilates 512 owner, Peak Pilates Certified. ASFA GroupFitness Certified. Group Fitness Trainer. Specialized Pilates Personal Trainer.

I began dancing at an early age and transitioned to a North Austin R.A.D ballet academy in the 4th grade. At 16 I decided to take a professional opportunity in ballet with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's boarding program. I had a rigorous schedule of dancing before and after my academic classes. Throughout my ballet education I learned the importance and gained priceless skills in discipline, time management and perseverance. After Pittsburgh I joined the Richmond Ballet Trainees and danced in many professional performances with the company. My love for Texas brought me back to Austin and I danced one more year for Ballet Austin. As a ballet dancer I would take class and rehearse 8 hours a day, 5-7 days a week. It taught me the importance of building strength, taking care of your body and preventing injury.

During my last year of dancing I transitioned over to Pilates. I started with my mat certification with Power Pilates and mentored with one of the best Pilates instructors in Austin.  I continued on with a comprehensive certification with Peak Pilates and have been teaching classes since 2008. In 2010 I participated in an Exercise through Pregnancy certification to continue my education.  I have also created numerous fitness programs ranging from; mommy and baby exercise, cardiovascular Pilates, foam roller stretch and myofascial release. My dance and Pilates background influences how I design an exercise program and include effective and safe workouts made for any and all levels to create lean, strong muscles and a healthier body.

I believe that exercise should be a part of your lifestyle and routine and I strive to make my workouts sustainable and effective with proper technique and concentration in movement. It's incredible how much more you can get out of a workout when it is done properly. It's also important to keep your body moving. The power of movement possesses a healing quality both mentally and physically. Joseph Pilates mentioned you are only as old as your spine. "If your spine is inflexible and stiff at 30, you are old. If it completely flexible at 60, you are young." -JP I always like to focus on the future; what I'm doing today will effect me tomorrow and the years to come. By building a strong and balanced body you can feel and look good for the years to come. Over my years of teaching I've implemented this practice and seen it's payoff and the results it has brought to so many of my clients.

In 2009 I married my best friend, Jae Harpole, and together we have two wonderful children that keep us active and motivated to stay healthy role models. I exercised though my whole pregnancy using my Pregnancy Exercise Program and Pilates and circuit training helped me get back to my pre-pregnancy self. Exercise has helped me keep a clear head and gives me the ability to roll around and play with my kids. Working with other pregnant and new moms has been a joyous adventure and I love sharing my knowledge and experience with women looking to stay active during their pregnancy.
